>> R+B singer Beyonce Knowles is convinced the demise of Destiny's Child won't sink in properly until she begins work on her second solo album. Knowles and her former bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland split Destiny's Child this summer (05) after selling more than 40 million singles and albums. But the 24-year-old, who is in regular contact with Williams and her cousin Rowland, knows she will only fully realise the impact of becoming a permanent solo star when she has to choose the tracks for her next record. She says, "I don't think I'm going to feel it until I have an album coming out. "When I go into the studio and I have to decide the singles and the videos and all of that by myself, when I have that pressure and I'm going to have to perform by myself - that's when it's gonna hit."

>> Rap producer and stylist Pharrell Williams' A Bathing Ape (BAPE) clothing company has designed a special pair of high-heeled sneakers for Beyonce Knowles' new Pink Panther video. The former Destiny's Child star is a big fan of the footwear and asked if she could have a stylish pink shoe to go with her urban look in the new promo, Check On It. She says, "These shoes are actually BAPEs and we got them specially made; these are the only high-heeled BAPEs." The stylish singer/actress had a blast from the past while making the new video - she has her hair in cornrows. She explains, "I'm taking you back to when I first came out in '98 and this is really when I braided my hair."

>> R+B star Beyonce Knowles' new perfume True Star Gold represents her on-stage alter-ego Sasha. The former Destiny's Child bandmember, 24, launched True Star fragrance with Tommy Hilfiger in September 2004, and after huge sales, the pair have launched a second scent this month (December 2005), which represents Knowles' second personality. Knowles says, "I had True Star originally. And it was a reflection of my true self, of Beyonce. It was really private, and not overbearing. "True Star Gold - Gold is my favourite colour, and it, basically, is a reflection of Sasha, who is my personality on the stage. It's more sexy. It's more outgoing. It's the type of fragrance you would wear if you had a hot date or you're going out, having a Sex And The City night with your girlfriends."

>> R+B beauty Beyonce Knowles has laughed off reports she is set to wed to boyfriend Jay-Z in the new year (06), insisting the media makes up engagement stories about "every celebrity". The former Destiny's Child singer, 24, and rap mogul Jay-Z, 36, have been dating since late 2002 after finding love while recording duet Bonnie And Clyde. Knowles says, "I have no wedding plans. No, I'm not rushing. "They've been saying it about every celebrity forever. It's not personal. They just do it to everyone. "I'm 24 years old!"

>> Pop star Beyonce Knowles can't wait for audiences to see her fourth feature film Dreamgirls, because it will be "the first time" she acts. The R+B star has made three movies so far, including Austin Powers In Goldmember, The Fighting Temptations and the forthcoming The Pink Panther, but insists she hasn't really "acted" properly in the roles. She explains, "I get to really show a range and really get to act for the first time."

>> Beyoncé Knowles is planning to marry fiancé Jay-Z in the Caribbean next summer. The sexy R&B star and her rapper boyfriend have begun planning their wedding day - but are determined to keep the details a secret. A source close to the couple said: "It will be a small, intimate wedding with just close friends and family. "Preparations are under way, but the exact date and location have yet to be decided. "Both Beyoncé and Jay are determined to avoid turning the day into a media circus. So only they and their parents will know the full details until the very last minute." Meanwhile, the former Destiny's Child singer, who has dated rapper Jay-Z for three years, has said she finds it easy to keep her love life out of the spotlight. The beautiful singer said: "Even in school I was private. It kept my name out of people's mouths. "Not because I was ashamed or because I wasn't passionate about who I was dating, but because it seemed more pure when I treated it like it was sacred. "I don't mind being vulnerable, but people scrutinise celebrities and make up stories. Then when everyone in the world is talking about you, it makes things really hard. I'm just a regular woman."

>> Tina Turner and Tony Bennett, two legends of American music, earned accolades from a broad array of pop and jazz stars Sunday during the Kennedy Center Honors. In honor of Turner, Queen Latifah sang "What's Love Got to Do With It," Melissa Etheridge sang "River Deep, Mountain High" and Beyonce Knowles performed "Proud Mary." Oprah Winfrey called herself "Tina's biggest known groupie" and spoke of seeing Turner perform live, advising the star-studded audience at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, "Add that to the list of things you do before you die." Bennett was saluted with performances of standards like "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, "For Once in My Life," by R&B star John Legend, and "Fly Me to the Moon," by chanteuse Diana Krall. >> Beyonce Knowles has hit out at claims she was pushed into showbiz by her parents, insisting she is driven purely by her love of music. The singer/actress' every move is managed by her father Mathew, but she claims he is unfairly labelled a pushy dad. Knowles says, "I never felt that I was being dragged into the business. I always loved music and never felt pushed beyond my own ambitions to succeed. "I never had to sing or earn money for my family because we lived very well. We had a nice house, nice cars. I only sang because I loved it".

>> Destiny's Child were dumbstruck when their lifelong idol Michael Jackson approached them singing one of their songs. The starstruck Survivor beauties, Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle, grew up listening to the Thriller hitmaker and insist meeting him at his 30 years in showbusiness bash a few years ago was more than a dream come true. Rowland says, "To finally meet someone whose music we've grown up listening to blew us away. "And Michael was one of the nicest people we've ever met - he came up to us singing the lyrics to Bootylicious! "We just stood there like dumbstruck fans with our mouths open in shock - I think we may have even screamed!"

>> Whitney Houston has criticised younger singers including Christina Aguilera, Beyonce Knowles and Britney Spears for being too willing to sign up for advertising deals. While Aguilera has championed Pepsi, and Knowles has represented fast food giant McDonalds, Whitney insists she never sold herself commercially except as an actress and a singer. She says, "They are a brand. They sell everything whereas I have only ever been a singer and actress. They do too much promotion".

>> In another key piece of casting, Keith Robinson has joined the lineup of the movie version of the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls," the tale of a '60s girl group loosely based on the Supremes. Robinson - whose credits range from "Fat Albert" to the recent FX series "Over There" and NBC's "American Dreams" - will play the composer C.C., brother of the pivotal character of Effie. The casting represents a particular coup because at one point R&B heartthrob Usher was reported to be in negotiations for the part, though no deal was reached. With filming on the DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures production set to begin in January under the direction of Bill Condon ("Kinsey"), the rest of the cast is quickly taking shape. Last week, DreamWorks announced that Jennifer Hudson, a former "American Idol" contestant, will play Effie, the role made famous by Jennifer Holiday in the original 1981 Broadway show when Holiday belted out her signature tune "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going." Along with Hudson, Beyonce Knowles and Anika Noni Rose will play girl group the Dreamettes. Jamie Foxx is set as their manager, Curtis Taylor, and Eddie Murphy is playing the headliner James "Thunder" Early. Condon has adapted the screenplay from the show's original book by Tom Eyen. Lyrics and music are by Eyen and Henry Krieger, respectively.

>> Beyoncé shot a video on Tuesday for "Check on It," the next single from Destiny's Child's #1's. Hype Williams directed the clip and fellow Houstonians Slim Thug and Bun B co-star.

>> The AMA nominees are selected based on record sales. That music contest is very important for all American singers, even for artist award in the Latin music. Destiny's Child trio picked up a pair of awards at 33rd Annual American Music Awards. Mariah Carey led all nominees with a total of four nominations. She collected the prize for Favorite Female Artist in the Soul/R&B category. But she lost out on the award for Favorite Female Artist in the Pop/Rock category to Gwen Stefani. Stefani was presented for the first time at the American Music Award. Redneck Woman Gretchen Wilson took home Favorite Female Artist honors in the Country category. Missy Elliott took the prize on the Rap/Hip-Hop category. Rob was the Favorite Male Artist. Tim McGraw was awarded for the Best Album for Live Like You Were Dying. Shakira took home the Favorite Artist award in the Latin music category.
