>> Destiny's Child manager Matthew Knowles has offered to take over Britney Spears' flagging career - as long as she's honest with him. Beyonce Knowels' father has been among the names thrown out as a possible successor to Larry Rudolph, who was sacked as Britney's manager in October (04). And Knowles admits he's interested in the job - but only if Britney is committed to regaining her superstar title. He says, "I'd ask Britney, 'Do you really wanna do this, because if your heart's not in it, as a manager I can support that, but just realise that you're not gonna have the success you once had.'"

>> "Access Hollywood" has named its "Top Ten Stars of 2004," with Britney Spears in the No. 1 spot. The rankings are based on the number of stories the syndicated entertainment television show aired on each star. Spears - who was married twice, canceled a summer tour because of a knee injury and released a greatest hits album - topped the list with 119 stories. Beyonce is in the No. 2 spot, with 102 stories, followed by Donald Trump, 94 stories; Michael Jackson, 84 stories; Tom Cruise, 72 stories; Jessica Simpson, 69 stories; Paris Hilton, 63 stories; Nicole Kidman, 62 stories; Jennifer Lopez, 54 stories; and Whitney Houston, 52 stories. "We want to thank these stars for helping to make 2004 the best in 'Access Hollywood' history," executive producer Rob Silverstein said in a statement Tuesday. "Here's to more `can't miss' moments in 2005."

>> A dress worn by Destiny's Child, a poster signed by Jennifer Lopez and a guitar signed by Wyclef Jean are being auctioned by MTV to raise cash for hurricane victims in the Caribbean. Seventy-five per cent of proceeds from the Caribbean Relief Auction will go to American Red Cross efforts in Haiti, Grenada and the Cayman Islands. The auction runs until tomorrow (20 December 04). Other items include a poster signed by Britney Spears and a travel package to Grenada. Jean, a native of Haiti, says, "I think fans pay attention. They are aware of the situation and want to do what they can to contribute." Tropical Storm Jeanne and Hurricane Ivan left a trail of destruction when they hit the islands in September (04) in one of the Caribbean's worst storm seasons in recent history.

Singer Kelly Rowland has emphasised the importance of a healthy diet and insists youngsters must focus on loving themselves before developing a taste for fashion, and concerns about their weight. She says, "We feel it's important to speak out on young girls being body conscious. Eat. Don't live to eat, eat to live. "You find so many cases where kids are obese or don't eat, and you never know what's going to happen. Love yourself. If you don't love yourself then how can you expect the rest of the world to see what's so beautiful about you? "Everybody on this earth is made differently."

>> Ashanti has again hit out at reports of a rift with R+B rival Beyonce Knowles, insisting it has been manufactured by the media. The singer was recently reported to have taken on an endorsement deal with hair care firm Herbal Essences to compete with Beyonce, who has a deal with L'OREAL. But Ashanti insists any friction between the pair is entirely fabricated by the press: "Me and Beyonce, we both know that we don't have hate for each other. "The media tried to make it into something it wasn't and it didn't work. We were both like, 'Hey we are both successful.' That was it."
