>> Sexy American songstress Jessica Simpson has been named Female Star Of The Year in a poll. The singer and her hubby Nick Lachey - who feature in MTV reality show Newlyweds - also scooped the Couple Of The Year award in American magazine In Touch's end-of-year readers' survey. Meanwhile Kate Hudson was named the Hottest New Hollywood Mum, Beyonce was crowned Best Dressed Star and Lil' Kim was voted the Worst Dressed. Elsewhere Johnny Depp was voted Male Star Of The Year, Shrek 2 was named Movie Of The Year and the Friends finale claimed Best TV Moment.

>> Missy Elliott has finished work on her sixth album. She told MTV.com that the follow-up to 2003's "This Is Not A Test" will "be out in the blink of an eye" but no release date has yet been announced. The rapper-producer is believed to have recorded with Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera and Alicia Keys but is remaining tight-lipped about her special guests. She told MTV.com: "I don't want to say who the people are, but oh yes, the artists that I've worked with will be on my album." "I didn't get a chance while I was out on the road to get in the studio [then I] took a break, and went back in - and it's my favourite album I've ever done, out of all my albums." "If people like [2002's] "Under Construction", they'll triple-times love this album." Elliott launches the talent show "The Road To Stardom" tonight [January 5] on US TV - the winner will get $100,000 [£53,000] and a debut single produced by her. She said of the contestants: "They've been dreaming of this since they were kids, like, 'If somebody could just hear me.' And I guess I'm the person who heard."

>> Singer Will Young has beaten David Beckham and Jude Law to win the vote for the celebrity with the sexiest body. Ex S-Club star Rachel Stevens is top in the women’s list – over the likes of Kylie Minogue and Jennifer Lopez. Justin Timberlake was number one last year, but has not been voted into the new men’s top five compiled by Heat magazine. England football captain Becks, 29, who was third last year, is now second in the men’s poll, followed by British Hollywood star Law. Nigel Harman, who plays Dennis in EastEnders, is fourth followed by chart-topper Robbie Williams, a new entry in the list. Pop star Rachel, 26, beats last year’s number one Kylie, 36, into second place in the women’s poll, followed by singer Beyonce, TV presenter Cat Deeley and diva J.Lo. The poll, in the current edition of Heat magazine, also compiled a Could Do Better Category – with fashion designer Donatella Versace topping the list, followed by I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here’s Peter Andre and singers Pink, Antony Costa and Michelle Heaton.
