>> On top of the hint that was placed by her group mate Kelly Rowland about next year's possible reunion of Destiny's Child, Beyonce Knowles has been working on her upcoming third solo effort. She is reportedly working with rapper Kanye West in the album, which is allegedly scheduled to drop with title "Virtuoso Intellect". Beyonce has also reportedly included producers Rodney Jerkins, The Neptunes, and The-Dream in a list of her possible collaborators for the album. Unfortunately, there is no available confirmation about her work with the stars. Furthermore, her upcoming album is believed to include her song entitled "Beautiful Nightmare" as one of the U.S. bonus tracks. The single is supposedly scheduled for release on iTunes on September 12 but has been leaked months before. Beyonce's next album is reportedly scheduled for an international full release on November 11 while the domestic edition is set to drop a week later on November 18.

Fashion Designers Hope to Stitch Up an Obama Win

>> It used to be that political campaigns would be satisfied if they managed to settle on an eye-catching font for their T-shirts and trucker caps. The merchandise wasn't so much designed as it was stamped out like a pile of red, white and blue bunting. Political paraphernalia was mostly about the message -- not the aesthetics. Now it is enthusiastically and abundantly about style. The Barack Obama campaign, which has been actively courting the fashion industry, has coordinated some 20 or so designers who are creating official merchandise for the candidate's Web site. It is the first time, as far as Seventh Avenue long-timers can recall, that a quorum of the fashion industry has organized its financial resources and creative energy around a single presidential candidate. The mix, available online next month, ranges from T-shirts to tote bags and will lend a bit of runway panache to the Obama brand. The list of participating designers, which includes Derek Lam, Isaac Mizrahi, Tracy Reese, Charles Nolan and Diane von Furstenberg, covers the full spectrum of the market, from high-end to inexpensive. Other names have been bandied about but not confirmed: Beyoncé, Russell Simmons, Michael Bastian, Vera Wang. Few entrepreneurs are as adept at brand building and buzz creation as fashion designers. Theirs, after all, is the industry that transformed velour sweat suits into the status symbol known as Juicy Couture. Denim manufacturers convinced shoppers that there was nothing wrong with regularly paying $200 or more for a pair of artfully distressed jeans. And accessories designers prompted otherwise rational women to invest thousands of dollars in "it" handbags that contained neither that much leather nor that much labor.

Beyonce join voices to fight cancer

posted by Klaudia on 19 Aug 2008 + comments (1)

>> What would it sound like if 15 of the hottest female singers joined voices? The answer will be revealed Sept. 2. That's when "Just Stand Up" hits airwaves and iTunes. The song features Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. All sales of the star-studded single will benefit cancer research. The charity tune was conceived by Antonio "L.A." Reid, who produced it with longtime creative colleague Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds. All 15 singers will share the stage to perform the song live on Sept. 5 during the "Stand Up to Cancer" television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS. Other stars expected to turn out for the hourlong fund- and awareness-raising program include Jennifer Aniston, Lance Armstrong, Katie Couric, Sally Field, Salma Hayek, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker and Reese Witherspoon. Founded in 2007, Stand Up to Cancer is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that calls on entertainment-industry people and platforms to help fight cancer.

Beyonce To Launch Jewellery Line?

>> It's no secret that Beyonce Knowles likes a bit of bling. She is rarely seen without a bit of sparkle so it seems that her next move makes a great deal of sense. It has been suggested that Beyonce along with Mother Tina who are both big fans of Lorraine Schwartz are about to embark on a business project to produce affordable jewellery. Deréon, the junior sportswear brand founded by the Knowles family is rumoured to have inked a deal with Carolee jewellery to create a fashion line for the brand. The line will be available from Spring 2009.

Beyonce Gets ‘Obsessed’ For Next Film Role

posted by Klaudia on 15 Aug 2008 + comments (0)

>> The movie stars Beyonce Knowles (hot) and Ali Larter (also hot), so what should the makers of “Obsessed” put on their posters when the film gets released next year? “A great movie,” said star Idris Elba, adding with a smile. “Even if it has the ugliest cast you’ve ever seen in your life!” Ok, so he’s kidding about the stars being ugly (duh), but Beyonce and Larter do both get their hands pretty dirty pretty quick, Elba revealed, in a plot that purposively recalls “Fatal Attraction.” Without the rabbit stew, unfortunately, but “Fatal Attraction” nonetheless. “Beyonce and I are a married couple and a temp that works at my office ends up falling in love with me and it all goes crazy,” Elba said of the fim’s set-up, which pits the two ladies against each other in chilling love triangle. “It’s a thriller.” But while the plot may sound familiar, the Beyonce you’ll see will be anything but, Elba insisted. Indeed, “Obsessed” is really the actress’s first role that doesn’t include singing (”Dreamgirls” and “Cadillac Records”) or, well, being an idiot. (”Austin Powers.”) So how does the once and future chanteuse hold up? “That’s the question a lot of people are asking me. Can she pull it off,” Elba recalled. “And she can. She’s really good.”

Solange Denies She Is Beyonce's Sister

>> Solange is so tired of being asked about her big sis Beyonce that she sometimes denies being related to her. The singer, who is launching a successful career of her own, is constantly questioned of her superstar sibling but says she tries to pretend its all a joke. She says: "I get asked about Beyonce all the time but I try and make fun of it. "Sometimes I say she's not my sister. Other times I say I've stuffed her in my suitcase and sent it to Dubai. "I have to have fun with it or I'll turn in to Britney - shave my head and go totally crazy." You're a long way from that still Solange!

Idol judges escape chop

>> All eyes are on Australian Idol this year to see whether a revamped version of the show can bounce back to prominence after a lacklustre year featuring Natalie Gauci and Matt Corby. Both singers are yet to release a solo album. So how will producers rescue the show? A source has revealed that major international stars will appear on the series as mentors and guests. Stevie Wonder has been lined up as a guest in October but executives are aiming for a female superstar for the final show: Beyonce Knowles has been asked to appear at the Idol finale in Sydney on November 23. There has been a lukewarm reaction from Beyonce's management in the US. "It's not looking promising with Beyonce but we may end up with someone like Kelly Rowland appearing at the Opera House," the source said.

Beyonce shooting new L'oreal commercial

>> Yesterday, while hanging out at my new favorite Queens spot -- the Ugly Betty set -- I learned that the show is looking to cast a new male lead. And here's an A-list spotting I had during my exclusive visit: Beyonce, standing 10 feet away from me just outside the studio's lobby. She was wearing just a blue robe, her hair was light (again!) and she looked fierce. Turns out she was at the production studio to shoot a new Loreal commercial.

Best of all, he pulled up to the dealership in his Lamborghini, huge bodyguard in tow, and said he had been eagerly awaiting the vehicle to come out and was insistent on a black on black Limited Edition with every option. After locating the vehicle, the salesperson personally delivered it to T-Pain's Miami Beach recording studio, where none other than Beyonce was in the house. The Ford Flex marks vehicle no. 27 in his vehicle collection.

Beyonce and Jay-Z baby talk

posted by Klaudia on 09 Aug 2008 + comments (0)

>> Reports suggest that 'newlyweds' Beyonce and Jay-Z are going through a sticky patch - because the two stars have differing opinions on when to start a family. A source close to Jay-Z told MediaTakeOut "Jay Z is ready to have children. He [and Beyonce] dated for years, now they're married...and for him - it's time for children," However the Destiny's Child singer is not ready to be a mum just yet "Beyonce is very career focused. She has another album due this year and a couple of major film projects in the works," the source continues. "Her career is moving at 90 miles per hour and she's not trying to have it slowed down by a baby" "[Jay Z and Beyonce] are best friends so it's not like they're fighting over it...but they both feel very strongly about [their positions] - if one of them doesn't relent, I think it could be a big problem."

Jay-Z finally speaks about Beyoncé marriage

posted by Klaudia on 09 Aug 2008 + comments (0)

>> Jay-Z has spoken for the first time about why he and Beyoncé have chosen not to talk publicly about their marriage. The rapper and the solo star tied the knot at the rapper's New York home in April, but the pair have only been spotted wearing their wedding rings in the last few weeks. In an interview with Vibe magazine, he claimed it was important for the couple to keep certain elements of their lives away from the media and public. He said: "You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you. I shared so much of my life. I should have something to hold on to. I just think [marriage] is really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself." The '99 Problems' rapper wed Beyoncé in a "very special, very private, very intimate" rooftop ceremony in New York on 4 April, according to a source close to the pair.

L'Oreal Denies Altering Beyonce's Skin Color

posted by Klaudia on 09 Aug 2008 + comments (0)

>> It's Beyoncé as you've never seen her before ... and some people aren't happy about it. Ever since images from an ad campaign for L'Oréal Paris in the September issue of Elle hit news stands earlier this week, bloggers and critics have been claiming that the pictures appear to have been altered to give the singer lighter skin. Compared to other images of Beyoncé, the singer's skin tone does appear to be several shades lighter in the ad, and while B herself hasn't made any comments about the controversy, a L'Oréal spokesperson denied the charges on Thursday. "We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles," read the statement. "It is categorically untrue that L'Oréal Paris altered Ms. Knowles' features or skin tone in the campaign." Beyoncé has been a spokesperson for L'Oréal since 2001. The new campaign for the Feria hair-color product shows the 26-year-old singer with windblown blonde hair and a skin tone that the New York Post dubbed "shocking." A rep for the singer told the paper, however, "There is no doubt that anyone seeing that ad will know that it is Beyoncé." Eric Deggans, chairman of the media-monitoring committee of the National Association of Black Journalists, told the Post that magazines should be more sensitive to perceptions that light-skinned African Americans are more acceptable. Beyoncé's "skin is lighter [in the Elle ad] than the way I'm used to seeing her," he said. "Advertisers and magazines need to be careful about this, even if it's just a production process."
