Beyonce and Jay-Z plan Dublin's party- of-the-year in Lillie's

>> They're the pure platinum celebrity couple famed for their bling parties and A-list status. So when Beyonce and Jay-Z jet into town and you just know that if they go out it will be to a very special bash. The Herald can reveal the soul diva and her rap-star hubby have paid for a party at Lillie's Bordello on Sunday night, which its rumoured they will attend. Beyonce will perform two sell-out gigs at the O2 on Sunday and Monday night. And in between she and Jay Z will host Dublin's glitziest party-of-the- year for her lead dancer. Talented performer Khasan Brailsford has booked out the club's exclusive VIP area for a bash on Sunday night after the concert. Lucky invitees will enjoy cocktails and free-flowing champagne as they toast the birthday boy, while a selection of fresh fruit will also be available. Khasan is said to have contacted Hotspots promoter, Garret Brady to book the venue in advance, having been giving a private tour of the Grafton Street haunt during his most recent visit to Dublin last June. "Khasan and the Beyonce crew have heard a lot about Lillie's and he was really eager to have his party there," said an insider. "Several members of Beyonce's security team met with the Hotspots boss in Lillie's on their last visit and got a guided tour of the place. "They wanted to double check that the venue had adequate security in case Beyonce and Jay-Z came in. "There are a lot of rumours going around that Beyonce is planning to come in and sing Happy Birthday for him as a special surprise," they added. And to ensure the dancer and the rest of the crew on tour thoroughly enjoy their visit, management at Lillie's are pulling out all the stops by hiring additional security on the night. A VIP bus will also be on hand to shuttle concert goers from the O2 venue to Grafton Street in time for the much anticipated party. Insiders say Beyonce is also planning to do some more shopping during her visit to Dublin this weekend. The world-renowned singer spent several thousand euro in upmarket store Chica in the Westbury Mall during a shopping trip with her mum Tina, last time she jetted into the Emerald Isle. The star spent nearly an hour choosing a range of jewellery and designer gowns to add to her already-bulging wardrobe. The star also rented a bike from Phoenix Park Bike Hire, taking a tour of the city with a number of minders and stopping at the Guinness Storehouse and other sights.

>> Alicia Keys did not want to stop at collaborating with rapper Jay-Z for his song “Empire State of Mind”, she has also decided to team up for a duet with Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce. The Alicia Keys and Beyonce duet is said to appear on Alicia Keys’ forthcoming album The Element of Freedom. The unnamed track was reportedly produced by Swizz Beatz and is an “uptempo club number” according to R&B blog Toyas-World.net. Alicia Keys has gone on record prior to this announcement to say that there would be two major collaborations on her album The Element of Freedom but of course failed to mention with who. There is no telling how the collaboration will map out. Alicia Keys is known to have a very soulful husky sound while Beyonce’s voice drips with tons of vibrato. At any rate, this single is sure to rile up more anticipation for Alicia’s The Element of Freedom. The Element of Freedom is scheduled for a December 15 release.
Buskers give away Beyonce tickets

>> Selected London buskers are giving away more than 800 tickets to singer Beyonce's forthcoming concert at the O2 Arena this weekend. Fans must ask the street musicians, who will be performing Beyonce tracks, whether they have any tickets and make a donation for their performance. The "Beyonce Buskers" can be found across the city throughout Friday. A spokeswoman said: "Some people have donated as little as 10p, but others have given up to £10." Anyone who makes a donation is given three tickets to the concert on Sunday. "We held these tickets back from the concert," said the spokeswoman for Trident, which is sponsoring the event. "The other 13,000 tickets were won by competition winners. It's the first time tickets for a gig at the O2 have completely been given away." Beyonce, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, kicked off her UK tour in Liverpool on Wednesday. She is also scheduled to perform in Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Dublin and Belfast.
Beyonce Knowles' excess baggage

>> Beyonce Knowles booked a hotel room just for her luggage. The 'Sweet Dreams' hitmaker rented the lavish £2,450-a-night Charles Forte Presidential Suite at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, UK, while performing in nearby city Liverpool this week, but after struggling to find space to hold her 12 bags, had her entourage make a second booking to store her belongings. A source at Liverpool's Malmaison hotel - where the star took a £170-a-night room for her luggage - said: "She had seven suitcases, three hand-luggage bags and two boxes, all for her mammoth concert. In the cases there were, apparently, 14 dresses, lots of shoes, make-up and 25 wigs." It took four helpers to carry her luggage up the stairs to the room, which was situated close to the Liverpool Echo Arena, where she performed twice this week.
Leading Egyptologist attacks Beyonce
posted on 13 Nov 2009 by Klaudia0 Comments
>> Beyonce has come under fire for her lack of knowledge about ancient Egypt - by the country's Indiana Jones. Revered historian Zahi Hawass, Egypt’s chief Egyptologist, reportedly called the pop star a "stupid person" while speaking to journalists during Beyonce's recent tour of the Giza pyramids near Cairo. Reporter Summer al-Gamal says Hawass, who claims he inspired Harrison Ford's Raiders of The Lost Ark character, was annoyed by the pop star’s apparent lack of interest as she toured the ancient site. According to Gamal, Hawass said, "I showed her the Sphinx and I gave her a book on King Tutankhamen," during his self-guided tour. The reporter says, "Then he stopped being diplomatic and said in anger, 'She’s a stupid person and she doesn’t understand a thing and she doesn’t want to understand... She’s coming here to take pictures and that’s it.'" Gamal has reported Hawass' comments in the al-Shorouk newspaper. The leading Egyptologist has yet to comment about the story.

Beyonce To Testify In Copyright Case?
posted on 12 Nov 2009 by Klaudia0 Comments
>> In a surprise move, Beyonce could be the next superstar to visit a courtroom this year. According to Chicago Sun Times reports, the “Video Phone” singer may testify in a case stemming from an alleged copyright infringement. Sources say Beyonce, then working and later promoting the last Destiny’s Child album “Destiny Fulfilled,” is accused of lifting the idea for the hit single “Cater 2 U” from a song composed by singer/songwriter Rickey Allen. Allen originally filed suit in 2006 over claims that he first copyrighted the song, allegedly of the same title, in the mid-1990s. Allen later claimed he handed over a version of his song to producer Maurice Joshua, who is said to have later worked with Destiny’s Child. The case has long been delayed but is now slated to move forward December 10 with Beyonce on the stand to testify. A statement from a legal filing says “she (Beyonce) is perhaps the most important witness for the defendants”.

Designer Koma 'incredibly proud' Beyonce chose his dress
posted on 10 Nov 2009 by Klaudia0 Comments
>> David Koma is “incredibly proud” that Beyonce Knowles wore one of his gowns to the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs). The singer donned a black and metallic dress from the Georgian-born designer’s current autumn-winter collection as she picked up her three honours at last week’s ceremony in Berlin and David was astonished by how good she looked in his creation. He said: "I have been working with Beyonce and her team to create a unique dress and knew there was a possibility she may wear it, but when I saw her last night she looked absolutely incredible! "Beyonce represents the ideal woman that inspires me, I'm delighted that she wore my dress to collect her award and feel privileged and incredibly proud that a worldwide superstar has shown such support." The dress has also been seen on another famous face, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole – who faced heavy criticism for choosing the gown to wear on the judging panel of UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ last month. However, David insists he was delighted she also chose to wear one of his designs. He added to Vogue.com: "Cheryl is an amazing, beautiful, super sexy woman - I really like her and I was very flattered when I saw her in my dress. This week I'm a happy man, it's a very exciting time right now!”
